What decides who ranks first
Google looks at relevance (does your profile match the search?), distance (how close you are) and prominence (how well-known and trusted you look). You can't move your shop, but you can work on the other two.
The Delhi playbook
- Pick the most specific category. "North Indian restaurant" beats "Restaurant" in a market with 200 restaurants.
- Keep hours accurate — including market closing days (many Delhi markets close one day a week) and festivals.
- Out-review your neighbours. In crowded Delhi markets, top businesses often have thousands of reviews. Ask every customer, every day.
- Add real photos weekly — your shopfront, lane, products and team. In crowded markets, a clear shopfront photo helps customers find you.
- Use landmarks. Customers search "near Rajiv Chowk", "near Select Citywalk". Mention nearby landmarks naturally in your description and posts.
- Keep details consistent across Justdial, Zomato, Practo and IndiaMART.
Be ready for AI search
